Prolink was established to create the first true social network for gaming. With Prolink, gamers can connect with existing friends, make new ones, and share their accomplishments with a community. We launched our MVP in March 2018.
Currently Prolink has 2 full time developers and is working with experienced developers from our accelerator, RevRoad. We are now searching for a CTO who has experience as a Full Stack Developer with project management experience who is looking for a position to help build the next big social platform.
While experience with the gaming industry is an obvious advantage, it is not a requirement. Instead, we want someone with a passion for building a community looking to connect, innovating new technologies and creating a truly one-of-a-kind experience for video gamers.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: CHIEF TECHNOLOGHY OFFICER (CTO)
The Chief Technology Officer role is to assure the successful development, execution and maintenance of Prolink’s social media platform. This requires envisioning that the platform’s functionality, access, reliability, security and ease of use as well as planning for future growth and expansion.
Strategy & Planning
In partnership with the company’s founders, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services as a unique social media platform for the gaming industry.
Identifying competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to the business success.
Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering the company’s services.
Establish policy and practice for the development and implementation of all hardware and software enhancements.
Implementation & Deployment
Direct all software and platform development and coding, including writing of code in Python, MySQL, Java Script, Angular/JQuery/Bootstrap and HTML/CSS.
Act as system administrator for all communication and operational software.
Establish a specification conformance and testing regimen based on user stories and the User Experience design.
Select and manage company staff or outsourced vendors who will implement the application.
Review and approve proposed development releases and manage the release process.
Establish and monitor a web analytics regime that measures site traffic and application usage relative to business goals.
Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organization.
Supervise recruitment, training, retention, and organization of all development staff.
Establish standards of performance and monitor conformance for staff (through performance review) and vendors (through service level agreements).
Ensure the company’s internal technological processes and customer-facing services comply with community expectations and applicable laws and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility.
Formal Education & Certification
University degree in the field of computer science (preferred), business administration, or another related discipline.
An advanced degree in a related field is desirable.
Certifications in programming languages highly desirable.
Knowledge & Experience
Minimum of two years experience as a Chief Technology Officer or equivalent position
Experience and knowledge of the gaming industry.
Documented experience as a lead developer with experience as a full stack developer, mobile developer.
Proficiency with Python, MySQL, Java Script, Angular/JQuery/Bootstrap, HTML/CSS.
Experience with deployment of AWS, Elastic Beanstock and RDS.
Must be available to work at Provo, Utah worksite.
Demonstrated leadership, management and communication skills.
Professional writing skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Superior analytical, evaluative and problem solving skills.
A passion for working with a start up in the gaming and social media industry.
An appropriate compensation package based on Prolink’s growth curve and applicant skills and experience will be offered. An equity position in the company may be offered that is tied to performance and longevity.
